Featuring luxury single family, townhome and manor home communities throughout Virginia and one in Maryland, Renaissance presents distinct designs that outline the builder’s attention to details both inside and out.

Natural brick, stone and stucco create traditional and transitional facades, while hardwood flooring, accent moldings, fireplaces and beamed ceilings expand the numerous possibilities inside. Symmetry, comfortable floor plans and custom elements create harmony in Renaissance homes.

A New Approach

Renaissance, celebrating 20 years in the home building business, offers a twist to traditional styles with its Manor Homes, which are attached residences with two, three or four homes per unit. With the look and feel of single-family homes, the Manor Homes collection includes the William Shakespeare, the Jane Austen and the Charles Dickens at Kensington Square near Fair Oaks.

There’s a comfort zone that many buyers experience when visiting the Renaissance models. “The emotions you feel” when walking through the homes come into play for most buyers, says Karen Krupsaw, vice president of sales and marketing for Renaissance.

The William Shakespeare, which includes approximately 3,550 square feet on two levels, starts with a welcoming foyer leading into formal column-clad dining and living rooms to the right, followed by a private study, and then by an expansive kitchen, morning room and two-story family center. Distressed wood flooring goes with the flow of this wide-open design.

What Makes the Difference

If a window or a column feels out of place, then Renaissance goes back to the drawing board to make certain that the lines of the space flow properly. The depth and scale of a room match the importance of the design and detail of a Renaissance home. Then the home buyers get to make it their own, adds Krupsaw.

This happens with a little help from the Renaissance Design Center where Amy Arons, manager, and her staff assist new home purchasers in selecting appliances, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tiles, fireplace details and more. “Our mission is to allow customers to personalize, customize their homes,” as shown in the Grand Michelangelo at the sold-out community of The Crossings of Oakton, says Arons. Renaissance is now selling The Oaks, The Executive Collection of estate homes, out of this model.

Finishing Touches

With built-ins stretching along upper level hallways, turned wrought-iron balusters framing fanned staircases and accent moldings, and two- and three-sided fireplaces, Renaissance finds a way to offer homeowners plenty of standard and optional features. How spaces connect, such as kitchens with adjoining nooks, formal settings with side conservatories or owner’s suites near the places meant for gathering, is key to the Renaissance floor plans found at each community.

Finding the Right Fit

Renaissance’s grand designs in The Executive Collection, which include impressive rear elevations, three-car garages, Palladian windows and keeping rooms, also feature rooms with connections to the outside. The screened-in porch with its neighborly vistas and warming stone fireplace provides a relaxation place, while the side conservatory expands the entertainment areas inside the home.

From the custom items, such as a TV built in behind a two-way mirror installed by IQS, to the central libraries and luxury bathrooms, Renaissance shows how spaces fit and feel right. There’s a place for everything and Renaissance has found it.
