Artist Talk: Joan Konkel

A Washington, DC, artist who sculpts and layers mesh and metal talks about her process and explains one advantage to seeing her art in person: It moves and changes depending on the light, your angle, and your distance from the piece. She also shows how the grids within the mesh can be teased into moiré patterns through simple manipulation. Konkel’s work is represented by Zenith Gallery.
