The results are in for the upcoming DC Design House. After more than 75 designers walked through the house and almost 50 submitted proposals for the chance to participate in redecorating the Rectory of St. John’s Episcopal Church for the DC Design House, 15 have been selected. The house, at 3238 O Street, NW, Washington, DC, will be transformed and open to the public to tour from April 18th through May 10th. Meanwhile, this Saturday, Feb. 28, a Bare Bones Tour will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Five dollars will get you in the door to see the old Victorian before the designers work their magic. The tours – both the Bare Bones and Completed House – will benefit the Children’s Hospital Foundation of the Children’s National Medical Center.

Here’s what’s in store:

Allyson Terry of Cote Jardin will transform the big, generous front porch.

Michael Roberson, who did a fine job of remodeling the kitchen in last year’s DC Design House, will renew the vestibule.

Joseph Ireland will make over the stair hall.

David Mitchell, who also participated in last year’s DC Design House, will take on the living room in this year’s show house. Mitchell’s work has graced the pages and cover of Washington Spaces:

Camille Saum, who won for a dining room she designed in the 2008 Washington Spaces Best of Interior Design competition, will transform the dining room in this house. Saum’s work is also featured in the new issue of Washington Spaces, which is just reaching mailboxes today.

Susan Thompson will convert the kitchen. Draza Stamenich of Draza LLC promises to drench the laundry room in style.

Sally Steponkus will freshen the guest sitting room.  Steponkus was featured in Washington Spaces for her work for the NSO design show last fall.

E. Wayne Breeden will transform the owner’s bedroom.

Iantha Carley will convert the sitting room and bath for the owner’s bedroom.

And Marjory Segal of Well-Furnished Garden & Home will spin lovely ideas into the little girl’s room.

Meanwhile, we’ll keep you updated with snippets on their progress.
